Concept
The atmosphere of Palm Springs, Las Vegas or an upscale suburb of Los Angeles has been recreated just a few minutes outside Gifu at the Riverside Mall-central Japan's most innovative and colorful multi-activity complex. Feel the fun and excitement as you drive under the shade of the palm trees up to the Mall's entrance, or stroll the broad walkways of this open, spacious mall. The Riverside Mall is the premier life and entertainment center in the region-a vast shopping, dining and amusement complex with something for everyone.
  
Characteristics/Highlights
This is an open-structured, innovative and original complex. The Main Building features broad corridors, spacious sales floors (43 stores and outlets), a large cinema complex with 16 screens and 3,108 seats (operated by UNITED CINEMAS, the number one movie theater operator in the U.S.), an amusement park (Club Sega) and pachinko parlor, a spa with natural hot springs, and twenty restaurants (Japanese, Western, Chinese, Italian, and more) to provide an atmosphere for fun and excitement all through the day.

What do we do to attract visitors?
The complex tries to provide something for all our visitors to enjoy, whether they are families, young couples, or the elderly. Our Ferris wheel, merry-go-round, and miniature train are very popular with families.
On the main stage on the Mall's patio, we hold an average 240 live concerts, performances and other events on 120 days of the year for the enjoyment of visitors.
  
Why are we so successful?
Why have we enjoyed such excellent results, exceeding initial projections? One of the simplest reasons is that the complex has attracted consumer attention as a multi-activity shopping complex. Visitors are tempted to stay for a long time, sometimes enjoying an entire day here. Moreover, our customers are not only from Gifu Prefecture. A large number are from other prefectures (accounting for 46% of our visitors) such as Aichi (Nagoya, in particular, and Owari), Mie (Kuwana, Yokkaichi), Shizuoka (Hamamatsu), Shiga, Fukui and Ishikawa. The complex is now one of the most popular dating spots for young people and couples in the Chubu area!
Another reason for its success is that the complex has something for people of all ages, including families and seniors: a cinema complex, spa, amusement park, and other facilities.
Still another reason we receive customers from a very wide area may be the start of the shuttle bus service (three routes) and the large capacity of our 6,400 car parking lots including those of adjoining Rio World.
